From ben.boeckel at kitware.com Mon Nov 2 16:58:08 2015 From: ben.boeckel at kitware.com (Ben Boeckel) Date: Mon, 2 Nov 2015 16:58:08 -0500 Subject: [Smtk-developers] [BUILDBOT] Blog post on Do: test features Message-ID: <20151102215808.GA30241@megas.khq.kitware.com> Hi, I've created a blog post about the new Buildbot features here: http://kitware.com/blog/home/post/984 This describes the new Do: test feature and also has some examples which can be used to help buildbot get results for your branches more quickly. Also, the old "@buildbot test" commands are now officially deprecated for the buildbot.kitware.com instance; warning messages should start showing up tomorrow. The plan is to disable it there at the end of the month. When you have some time to work on documentation, please take a look at this page: http://smtk.readthedocs.org/en/latest/userguide/contributing.html#documentation-style If you want an example of a properly-documented class, please see https://github.com/Kitware/SMTK/blob/master/smtk/model/Entity.h https://github.com/Kitware/SMTK/blob/master/smtk/model/Entity.cxx Not all of the methods are documented (grrr...) but what documentation is there is correct. It makes a big difference on the dashboard and my local build. I've just merged a branch that should fix the 1 failing test on travis (by running a virtual-fb X server). Now we just need to fix the remaining warnings and the 3 failing smtk::mesh tests... :-) David From yumin.yuan at kitware.com Wed Nov 25 15:12:06 2015 From: yumin.yuan at kitware.com (Yumin Yuan) Date: Wed, 25 Nov 2015 15:12:06 -0500 Subject: [Smtk-developers] SMTK build warnings In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: Great, David! And to be exact, Ben did the actual work, I just kept pinging him :). I believe those failing mesh tests need moab to have hdf5 or netcdf support (for loading a mesh), so if moab on travis doesn't have those enabled, those tests probably should not be added to ctest. Pinging is important, too. I've submitted a branch to fix some of the warnings and assigned you (Yumin) to it, since "the squeaky ping gets the packets" (to paraphrase an old adage). > I believe those failing mesh tests need moab to have hdf5 or netcdf support (for loading a mesh), so if moab on travis doesn't have those enabled, those tests probably should not be added to ctest. Rob? 1. I am leaving the remaining warnings to Ben (inside MOAB) and Rob (inside smtk::mesh). 2. There is also the windows build failure (linking mesh-related tests) and the 3 failing tests you pointed out. 3. Finally, it looks like endor is periodically grabbing the desktop instead of the test window? What do we need to do to fix that? (Presumably VTK/PV or other projects have had similar issues?) I will start to look at this warnings today. 2. I have opened a MR to stop running python smtk mesh tests when we don't have a moab built using hdf5. I am going to also open a MR to fix the issue with linking tests on window's 'soon'. As a contrarian, I feel obliged to submit an alternative. :-) Attached are a few drawings that try to adopt the contour integral glyph into an SMTK logo. They would have to be cleaned up (lines straightened, curves faired, colors chosen more carefully) before use. David -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
